Feeding the ducks and geese

Grandpa Bruce somewhat started a tradition of going to a local pond to feed the ducks. The kids love to do it and often ask if we can go. For some reason the ducks weren't too hungry, so we fed the geese. Spencer and Natalie made sure to keep some distance between themselves and the geese, but for some reason Bailey didn't have that same instinct. She would just stand there as the geese would get closer and closer. There were a number of times that I had to scare the geese away from her in fear that they were going to bite her fingers off or something. Somehow we didn't get a picture of Natalie feeding (I think that she spent more time chasing the geese), and these other pictures aren't great, but you get the idea. Oh, and Tanner was a happy boy in his carseat. He loves being outside!

Bailey is brave. That might change if she gets bitten though!

I think the geese/ducks are always scarier to the mom than they are to the kids, because we're concerned with fingers getting bitten or eyes poked or something. We did that last month and I could not believe how many ducks and geese there were. It was a little too much for me especially since there was duck doo-doo everywhere! We couldn't stay long to play!! Next time we'll try another park that's hopefully less populated by ducks. :)

We took a walk around the park near Jason's parents and the geese kept hissing at us and getting too close for any of our comfort. Rachel threw Emily in front of her at one point. And Jason's mom told us that another time one of the geese actually bit our niece. So, be afraid! Be very afraid. Protect those precious little ones! It looks like everyone had fun though!
