Pioneer Day 1K
Our church puts on a 5K Run every July. They also have a 1K for the kids to do. Brett has helped with the technical side of the race the last couple years, so we have been pretty involved. The kids ran the 1K last year and were excited to do it again this year.

Colored Vinegar and Baking Soda
During the summer we tried to do some fun things to keep all these little ones busy. It was hard to come up with activities that all the kids would enjoy. This was one of those activities. We filled clear cups half way with vinegar and each child got to choose what color their vinegar was going to be. They then took turns putting a spoonful of baking soda into their cup. You would think that after the first cup their amazement would cease, but each spoonful there were "oohs" and "aahhs". Next time I think I will have a few more cups with just water in them and have them try to guess whether or not there was going to be an "eruption" before they put the baking soda in.
The kids enjoyed watching the colors combine after falling over the edge of the cups.
(I also love Emily's big frown in this picture)

Love This Smile
And love my big helper Natalie. She has been a life saver with Emily, especially around dinner time. I don't know what I would do without her. She sees things that need to get done and just does them. That is a quality that you just can't teach and I am grateful for a child that has been blessed with such an awesome talent.

Boy Cousins Sleepover
Tami came into town and the cousins wanted to have a sleepover. We ended up with all the boys while the girls headed over to the Yee's house.

That left Emily the only girl at home. She didn't seem to care.

Hunter and Emily
These two are very good friends. Hunter can get Emily to laugh harder than anyone else. He is very gentle with her and concerned when she make the smallest peep. We have brought the camera out on several occasions to try and capture it on camera, but as soon as Emily sees the camera she stops. I guess she is camera shy!

Indoor tent
The plan was to do lots of small, local camping trips this summer, but with Emily being little and not sleeping through the night every night, we have decided against it. Instead we have opted for building tents inside for the kids to sleep in. This was one such night. The kids have so much fun working together to build the tent and even more fun playing with each other when it is time to go to sleep.
